Johnsburg Knights of Columbus

The Johnsburg Knights of Columbus, St. John the Baptist Council 9167
was chartered in 1985. The Knights of Columbus is an international fraternal
organization of Catholic men dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity,
Family, Fraternity and Patriotism. The primary purpose of council fund raising
activities is charity. Fund raising proceeds are distributed to numerous needy
organizations without regard for religious affiliation.

MEETINGS

Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. every third Wednesday of the month
at the Johnsburg Community Club. Prospective members should
contact the Grand Knight Jerry Tomaselli at (815) 578-9281.


Tootsie Roll Drive

The most noteworthy Knights fund raiser is the annual tootsie roll drive
held every year in October.


Community Support

St. John the Baptist Council 9167 supports the mentally challenged
through donations to the Special Education District of McHenry (SEDOM)
and the Pioneer Center.

The Knights also hold four food drives per year with the vast
collection of food going to the FISH pantry in McHenry.
We also sponsor two annual blood drives.


Scholarships

The St. John the Baptist Council 9167 conducts an annual Golf Outing.
The proceeds from this event are used for Knights of Columbus scholarships
and donations to many other local charities.
